Either way, Byram would be the ideal replacement / cover for Clyne and now would be the time to blend him in for the rest of the season.
Is this guy Italian he sounds the right type and with loads more exsperience than Pella - which he can learn from. We need someone this transfer window and also a good stand in keeper who is mostly going to be sat on the bench.
Rhodes has potential in abundance, and wud'nt cost any more than we paid for Long!, but I do get your point about the experienced proven one. I noticed today that Anderson from United is not used any more and if we are going to loose one of are midfielders next season then I'd take him on loan to see how he fits in !!.
Looks like the club have got the above 3 positions right, and hope they can get cover especially up front ( Jordan Rhodes ) !!
Not alway's been Pella's best supporter but must say he was superb today and played very well.
Yes must agree Reed looked very good and is gradually getting more and more confident as each game he play's. Reminds me of when we had to play Shaw too often in his earlier day's but he grew and matured very quickly.
Believe we still need cover for Clyne and a backup keeper who will be prepared to sit on the bench most of the time!
I'm afraid to say that's Forster's ball all day long. A man his size should dominate his box and put that ball straight back down the pitch where it came from!. But saying that he and the whole team played really well and looked very confident on the ball.
I see there are up to 10 prem clubs interested in Defoe and he would cost 3 million plus wages ect. He could be the man in the box we need and would settle in immediately. With Tadic, Mane, and the new Dutch guy covering the wide issues and Pella with Defoe in the box - plus Long of course - then looks job complete to me!!7
Shane long is a grafter and a in your face hustler but will not get us many goals, and I can't see us getting much from J Rod this season - and he may never be the same player as before. We definitely need a option to Pelle and J Rhodes could be the one we so desperately need!
