Sidwell on a 1-2 year contract would be a good squad player addition its just a case of whether we have a young player who he would take game time away from.

Any rumors of players coming in needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, as the new manager will have the final say. He might have other ideas, and it all depends of who stays or goes.

Good thing about sidwell is that he does bag a few goals which we lack from our centre midfielders but think we could do better than sidwell

You name 5 midfielders and say we need no more. Clueless some of these comments, just clueless. Whilst I'd agree we have more depth in that position, an injury or 2 and we'll be lacking. Lack of depth stopped halted our points mid season. Sidwell is a good player who works hard, gets stuck in and knows where the goal is. Of our current squad, only Lallana ticks all 3 boxes.

St tony, as much as you make a valid point, don't you think a new striker or cb should be a priority based on us having ONE fit striker on the books as an 18 year old?! J rod is injured and we have 2 cb's, both being talked about leaving? Surely sidwell as a signing can wait?!

Agree with Jamesaint - 5 players is adequate but not ideal but the situation in defence and up front would be a priority. However Sidwell being available is not going to wait until we are ready.
