VVD to Liverpool? Thanks for the 75 million. No loss to us. he was not any good for us this year. we can buy 3 quality players for this amount! ( let's hope so! )

Where do we invest the money?
New GK
New creative midfielder
New Striker
New manager, reinvest the money to get in a quality manager and use the money to pay their wages. A bit like Newcastle with RB.

I think the bulk will be spent next transfer window as you’ll know if you stayed up or if the money can buffer the money lost from relegation.

I actually think fair play to the saints board in regards to selling van Dijk. If you consider the facts it is crazy. Man U payed £75 million for Lukaku, and man city were wanting Alexis Sanchez for £50 million, and now Liverpool are getting VVD, who is a Southampton defender, and also an overrated one at that, for £75 million!
In regards to spending money, I personally think we need a new GK as Forster's reactions aren't very good, and that could have saved a few points this season. the other thing we need is another striker to replace long. Kane has scored something like 43 goals since long last scored! i'm not sure about the new manager. sacking a manager doesn't necessarily sort out all the problems as you have seen. A lot of saints fans are now saying 'we should have kept Puel' so sacking a manager I don't think is a good idea unless we have someone such as Thomas Tuchel as a definite replacement.

I agree Saint bod; I'm open to sacking the manager, but not just for the sake of it. If you have a clear vision of who should replace him and what they'll bring to the table, then fine.

Tuchel would be amazing but I'll believe that when I see it! Doesn't need to be a big name necessarily, I just want to see that there's a plan if they do sack him, rather than just a panic move.

Glad it's finally done.

Board has done well getting that fee.

We definitely need to spend the money.

Admittedly i'm a distant Saints fan following from the TV and Web, having moved from Soton 10 yrs ago, but Why not take Koeman back. he's out of work, we played great under him, and he'll think twice about going to a supposed bigger club in the future. with all due respect, Pellegrino is a step back from Puel, who was about as positive as Sturrock, Wigly, Gray!

Agree 1863 shows that Puel did a pretty good job.

I'd welcome back Koeman - it was a good combination when he was the manager.

Why not stick jhaidi in charge until we find a replacement what damage can be done that already hasn't? The man has a great attitude seems to getting the best out of U23's as a temporary fix because my honest opinion the team ain't playing for MP no more.
