i have just started on here and would like to say there are some very good positive fans on here but also some with huge ideas of grandeur the season just gone has been one of the best in the clubs history and getting to europe was a tremendous feat but when people start saying we should have got ings toby should already be signed song would be a good signing etc etc if you look at it from a money point of view look no further than sako at wolves and see what clubs like saints have to deal with a player unproven in the prem and not that good at wolves is looking for 60k a week to join a prem club and if you look at the hit we have to take on gaston and osvaldo there will not be lots of money to go around I think if you look at eds comments you will get the best answers on who we might be able to afford currently we have a good squad a great manager and probably the best run club in the prem whoever we get is sure to be good so enjoy the summer don't panic and get ready for europe

We pay osvaldo 60 a week and gaston 70 a week there both better players than sako and could help in European competition I agree osvaldo is a prick and gaston hasn't shown any of his quality but our board will rather loan out and as ed has said its unlikely we would even be able to sell osvaldo to a good team .but these positive fans u talk of think it is possible we can pay 100g a week for song lol not going to happen and again I've heard on here clyne will sign again no he ain't were going to replace with Cedric most likely at half the price we sell clyne so when schniederlin gets sold we will again sing another player at half the price.people also sit here and try compare jwp with the likes of barkley there is a gulf in the difference in talent.positive is all good but come on be realistic who will boost our overall quality from our youth acadamy at the min.and we had a thin squad last season but hang on before we can buy we must sell and that just reduces the overall quality of our team .and as most fans I speak to already believe we will have trouble if we qualify for Europe and I agree but in a couple of weeks we will see if our board even won't to be in europe at this moment in time we would be better concentrate on the league.and not get ahead of ourselves look at every team that compeats in europe apart from swansea who managed to keep themselves competitive in all comps Newcastle everton just to name two and they both can pay bigger money to get better quality than they had we do it the other way around sell the best in the team and get someone else in and to be fare if it wasn't for koeman we wouldn't even of had tadic and pelle.look at our other signings.de ridder, mayuka, forren just to name a couple but I hear time and time again osvaldo is crap send him on loan gaston is the same send him out to .ain't anyone sat and thought for a second of how these players got were they were before we brought them talent that how but ill say it again its becuase cortese had a hand in signing them so they won't rid.steve bruce kept playing gaston and every team that has loan osvaldo has played him to i'm pretty sure if they were crap and not worth it they would not be played even ben arfer steve bruce sent straight back and I can remember Newcastle got some good play from him including running nearly the hole pitch and scoring a good goal.but anyway let's just be positive just to please certain fans

i agree with what you have written but I was saying that if you look at players like sako rhodes afobe players like this it could cost the clubs in the prem 60g on wages over a 5 yr contract with agent fees signing on fee and bonuses it is a 2o million plus deal for a player who has never played premership football that is how money orientated football has become players like clyne lovren shaw lallana etc did not leave saints for career gain they left for money gain and that's why the top five in the premership will never ever change

Money ruins most people and things we enjoy the days of the matt le tiss are long gone .with clyne we can't really blame the club they have probably offerd the best they are willing to pay and schniederlin has been a good servant up to the end of last season so should be off with good wishes.but the rest don't even deserve respect.
Wot really kills it for me is these players don't won't to try and make the team successful and become one of the best they would rather jump ship for success and let's face it since when did 30thousand a week become a bad earning that would be over hundred thousand a month u could buy a new house every two months us fans or most fans could only dream of such a life they get .but they go chaseing more and more just makes it a joke when they use the excuse of Champions League as the reason they move if anything it should say to us fans.WE AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH OR BELIVE IN OR TALENT ENOUGH TO STICK AROUND

would like to say what a tremendous tribute pompey fc have given to the fallen soldiers of world war one I know there is a lot of bad blood between saints and pompey but sometimes football can take a back seat
1.) Agreed, it's a great idea!
2.) I would really like to see a better relationship between us and Pompey, what does everyone else think?Its time to move on, its quite right to say that there are more important things than football. A thought that is very poignant this week.
3.) What about an annual football match betwen Saints and Pompey supporters, to be held on Xmas eve to remember those that gave everything. Loser buys the beer!

1.) Yeah, me to. That's why the deadline to renew season tickets was so early. The board new this was going to happen.

sky just announced liverpool and saints talking over fee for lovren 2days ago they said no one else would be sold think next season could be a very long slog

Too much money for vlarr and rojo would be amazing signings but as lovren has said no ambition only interested in mediocrity don't like what lovren has done out of order but there is some truth there more players to leave than come
Hopefully the saints fans won't be taken in by all the rubbish that he will be spouting has not gone to improve career gone solely for money same as shaw wish rickie all the best class act but shaw and lallana are a disgrace and the fans are not as stupid and gullable as they might think onwards and upwards

What a lot of rubbish five years ago we had a 32 000 all purpose stadium superb training facilities and a huge fan base hardly a huge gamble marcus god bless him knew that and as a good business man saw a good oppurtunity now further down the line we have average gates of 30 000 sell out all away games best youth system in britain and making millions of pounds every year from sky the reason why players leave here is not down to money it is due to a board who won't pay the going rate for quality players and all the selling and penny pinching will ultimately see us go backwards I love saints and go home and away every week I like thousands more deserve better
Totally agree look at qpr center backs I know one is getting on a bit but still quality and caulker good player if you take the fact spider and lovren will probably be going that takes selling to over 100 million pounds and does not includ season tickets sky and commercial sells no team in europe could lose so many players and expect to do well take messi neymar ineista and alves out of barcelona would they win the league doubt it but they would try and get very good replacements it seems our board are trying to get good options not paying the price and losing out the money is there give the fans something to smile about
