I only see saints live once or twice a year, recently wba. whilst the united result was superb, too little credit from motd as usual, against the baggies a couple of things struck me

matt target appears to have matured physically over the last 12 months and in both defence and attack looked very confident

shane long's contribution was immense

fraser returning seems to have given the back 4 or 3 renewed belief in their undoubted ability

with Charlie's arrival we can hopefully convert more chances into goals.

toby has made a very strange statement. whilst he wants to stay in the premier league he says he wants a club that 'really wants him'

I hope saints have made him feel wanted as he is a really class act

Think that might have been move of an attack at Athletico since he's only really been a bench warmer and then loaned out whilst there

Yeah, it's very apparent he's enjoyed his opportunities here and would welcome the chance to stay. I said about a month ago to really give us a good shot at signing him permanently, Toby and his agent should make some noise. If Atletico are open to selling him I would imagine we are entitled to negotiating before any other club can.

when Strachan left all those years ago we didn, t set or sights high enough when looking for a new manager. I notice the usual suspects have been mentioned but why would we want other teams failures. di matteo is out of work, he knows the big time and he always seemed to act with dignity and integrity

1.) A lot of the managers being linked play a similar style, have won leagues with their clubs and done well in Europe, much rather have one of them

I agree with saintysaintsaint all the way. surely after all this time roy should know his best players. based on the Germany game I doubt if sturridge [ injuries permitting ], sterling [ doesn't know what to do with the ball when he gets it ] or rooney [ passed his sell by date ] should even be included in the squad.
