There's a rumour in the Sun saying that we are battling it out with Fulham and Wigan to sign Thibaut Courtois on loan next season.
1.) Have read this but big doubts about it. Apparently Chelsea are ready to play him 1st team next season. He is great keeper for Atletico Madrid.
2.) Believe they want to try him in the premier league on loan before putting him in as their number one.
3.) We've already got 3 good keepers really can't see this happen unless boruc fails to sign a new contract.
4.) Don't see the point in this signing, we have a good no 1 already, what would a loan signing achieve?
5.) Why him we have got boruc I hope he signs a new contract if not got davis and gazzaniga.
6.) I can see a new keeper being signed on a permanent deal at some point, but a loan seems silly to me.
7.) We need another Keeper - Gazzaniga was a waste
Davis is getting on a bit
Boruc won't last long either
We need an experienced GK of around 25 yrs

Apparently Saints scouts were at the MLS Playoff semi final (New England vs NYRB), in which he impressed for the Revolution.
However even if a deal was secured for him, with only four international caps he would have to be deemed an ‘exceptional talent’ in order to get a work permit.
Didn't Gastón say in an interview around when we signed him that, "they [Southampton] are going to pay me a lot of money" - Gastón now loves the fans and wants to play for the club. There's no reason why Wanyama wouldn't be the same.
The mercenary issue is always going to be an issue with a club like Southampton that is willing to pay players a considerable amount of money in order to attract them to the club. By doing this, we will always attract 'mercenaries', but I strongly believe that they will fall in love with our football club.
Apparently Forren has told Norwegian media that he was signed for next season. He's a quality player, shown by his international experience, and the only reason he didn't play more is because we hit a good run of form where Hooiveld actually played quite well, stopping Forren from coming in.
He'd be welcome competition for Schneiderlin and Cork in the engine room and it also means that we won't have another spell like the start of last season (when Cork was out injured).
Dortmund wouldn't let Bittencourt go for 3 million. They would hold out for far more than that.
