Cortese to go against his normal habit of not bringing in loan players in order to sign the Ox back on loan for a season. Wenger struggling to afford him a regular place in their side and the Ox reportedly would rather come back to Saints for a season of 1st team football.
Believable6
Unbelievable21
Wouldn't get 1st team football at Saints. Will not happen.
Agree5
Disagree15
Only want him back if he is bought not loan
Agree8

Silly boy should have never left. It's all very well when these teams show interest in you, but they don't get the opportunity to shine week in week out that they would have had they stayed.
I hope Luke Shaw takes note.
Would I like to see Alex back? Sure why not.
Agree12
Disagree1
I would take ox back. Anyday. He is an England international
Agree8
Disagree2
It was a mistake him moving so early in his career, he may have not played in the champions league but he would have gotten far more first team games.
I would like to see him back, even if it is on loan. If he comes back next season then great, he is a class player.
Agree5
Disagree0
Not as bonkers as it originally sounds. We could do with another Attacking midfielder to add depth to what we already have. If Alex wants to be on that plane to Brazil next summer he will get more chances to put himself in the window for us than he would at Arsenal. All that said I can't see Wenger sanctioning this. They have CL football coming up, it will be a long season, they will need him.
Agree7
Disagree0
But he was from the Chamionship to the prem, so regular championship football or some prem appearances developing into a big side, it's different now for Shaw as he can be offered regular premiership football, which we couldn't offer Alex at the time, I'd love to re-sign him but I don't see it, loan? Maybe
Agree2
Disagree3
Only want Ox back on a permanent deal. Otherwise we should look elsewhere and sign players we will keep.
Agree5
Disagree1
I would have him back on a discount? :p

Just engage the grey matter! Saints are wanting to push for top 6 next season which means they will want to be competitive against clubs like Arsenal. So why take Alex back, who Arsenal would have found below the level they require, and would also not be able to play two games against Arsenal during the season?
There is no sense to this rumour, we will look to be better than Arsenal not to give a run out to their reserves!

I think to the guy who reckons he wouldn't get first team football, we are talking about an England international player here. whatever you think about the international team or set-up that's not really to be sniffed at, the Ox is a wasted talent at Arsenal. Why wouldn't we want him back? He can play across the midfield as we know, and could provide added quality and depth. Plus he's a Saint! I think it'd be a good move and it doesn't seem too out of the question.
Agree1
Disagree3
If he was back on loan I would not give him first team football. I would want our actual players to be the first team cause we know we can rely on them for years to come. Chamberlain would sit on the bench for me and come on if we were losing badly to try to claw something back.
Agree6
Disagree2
OP talking bs, Ox is a valued member of the squad at Arsenal and will get more games than he can handle. Get real Southampton fans, champions lge or relegation battle, dream on, lol
Agree1
Disagree6
Champions League for last season! And for how long-your season will be over by Christmas?
Saints have moved on, Arsenal have gone backwards.
And no chance with Morgan-he has toughed it out in the wind and rain away at Hartlepool and has benefitted immensely as a player from it. We have passed the point where your club can offer anything to draw our players away.
Dream on, lol.
Agree3
Disagree0
The ox is hardly an England international (well not a regular)?! Carroll has played more games than he hs! He has a cap, but then so should lambert and lallana. He is good but not great. Not an exciting signing and certainly not just to train him up for arsenal.
Agree2
Disagree0
Is and always will be a huge chasm between Arsenal and Southampton. Arsenal gone backwards?, lol, while they are playing the Barcas and madrids you lot will be battling relegation, lol, forever deluded in thinking you are a big club, wake up, you are not, just a little club on the south coast, on a par with bournemouth
Agree0
Disagree6
Now who's deluded. On par with Bournemouth? No. We're Premier league and have better facilities.
By the way, when was the last time Arsenal actually won anything? I genuinely can't remember. You guys are falling and the 'chasm' between us is narrowing. Whether or not you think this will result in us becoming a top European side eventually doesn't matter. But with the close call with spurs this season you could well lose your champs league spot very soon and just collapse from there. Don't pretend the future isn't going to be bumpy for you lot. Really you guys look like the 3rd best team in London these days. Lucky to finish in the top 4 this season.
Agree5

Arsenal, like Liverpool, living in the past! No longer a team of Viera and Henry and no longer even Barca lite.
A make weight in the CL, a practice game for the big clubs in Europe. Struggled to make CL for next season and just enjoy it. You won't see it again for some while.

Scott Sinclair joining Southampton in the summer after finally giving up on City. I imagine somewhere in the region of £5-7m as city want to shift him. Can't remember how much he cost them.
Believable13
Unbelievable10
It was undisclosed but reportedly around £8million.
Would like to have him at Saints, provided he doesn't have attitude problems (leaving Swansea for Man city after one season suggests a lack of loyalty).
We would only take him at the lower end of that range though. £5million fee plus he'd have to take a cut in wages.
Not sure it's all going to happen.
Agree11
Disagree1
Not a hug fan of Sinclair, would like another wide player as back-up for Puncheon/Lallana, would prefer to see someone better, although it would mean paying more.
Agree9

Dunno if it would help but his younger brothers here which he may like - certain a good option for him to rebuild his career in the prem

Jermaine Lens!
Agree14
Disagree0
Had we signed him this time last year we would have been very excited. As for the question of loyalty, it is probably a case that he's been told he doesn't make the grade, so has no future at city. Also the fact that he wants to move rather than sit there and pick up a big FAT paycheck means he wants to play - something that he did previously when he left Chelsea in the first place to get game-time.
Personally I think he'd be a good signing - a proven, young premier league player, with that certain something that can open defenses.
Agree7
Disagree0
I think he'd be a good signing I really do. Knows what this league is about. Our style will suit him and if he is on form he will be a huge asset. The key will be whether Pochettino and staff can get his head straight and/or control his mrs dare I say it! Could go either way!
Agree3
Disagree1
He'd be quality! Hasn't had a chance at City, but he's wasted there, look how good he was at Swansea the previuos season, would be great!

Sinclair not with her anymore

Had a good season with swansea, and fits in well with saints. Not sure he will come to us though
Agree0

Pochettino probably doesn't even know who sinclaire is so why would he buy him?
Agree1
Disagree5
Dont forget he has to have an op during the summer to remove a blood clot ( not sure where it is ) so how fit is he and what's his long term fitness going to be like? Would rather sign someone of more experience to push team on.
Agree1
Disagree1
Sinclair is not good enough, we need to be looking to sign the likes of ashley young and eden hazard.
Agree1
Disagree6
Ashley Young is shocking I'd sooner we signed Paul Young!
Agree3

Yeah, we'll just pop over to Chelsea and sign Hazard. I totally see it happening.
Agree6

Eden hazard are you for real if your going to post make it sensible
Agree6

I think he was being sarcastic. At least I hope so anyway.
Agree4

I have a inside to the Sinclair rumour. it is a big possibility as he is interested joining his brother here. He has put a come out and get me call. I knew him at Bath Arsenal and Bristol Rovers. He is a class young player and that's what we take at Southampton
Agree0
Disagree1
Given that his brother is at Southampton, we'd probably be favourites to sign him should we want to
Agree1
Disagree0
Really cannot see us signing Sinclair. two things make me think this -1. he has an operation to remove a blood clot this summer so may not be as fit as required by the saints regime. 2. may not fit in with the saints code of conduct guides for players & yes, potential players are monitored prior to signing on places like twitter etc to see how much of a nuisance thy might be. Not saying sinclair is any of this but he may fall short of current guides. on that note fully expect Guly to be departing this summer
Agree1
Disagree1
No he was being rhetorical. I'm sure he wasn't meaning we shd sign Hazard but a player of his ilk.
Agree2
Disagree1
The blood clot was in his shoulder, rumour has it he also had to have a rib removed. Still a very good player though.

I agree with the earlier post about Hazard, he'll fit into the side we have and increase our chances to qualify for champions league {Ed007's Note - I think it's time you went for a wee lie down.}

Marc Muniesa Barcelona B player set to join southampton on a free transfer this summer as his contract runs out in june.
Believable7
Unbelievable13
Rubbish! he is highly rated at Barcelona and there are other teams in the Champions League or Europa that will appeal more highly than we will. besides maybe a little light weight for EPL football at the moment
Agree8

Barcelona don't rate him, they're releasing him this summer.
Other clubs reportedly interested are Ajax, so it's not ridiculous competition.
He can also play LB (cover for Shaw).
Don't understand the hate for this.

You said it yourself. Ajax. don't think saints are up there with them just yet

It was listed in the papers last week. Man U supposidly ran the rule over him at Christmas and decided against it
Agree8

Man united also failed to get Clyne, and he is a bargain for us at circa £2m. In addition, United signed Buttner for more than Clyne. Who would you rather have exactly? Especially considering that the better player is English as well. Personally, If Man united leave a player it doesn't mean we don't want him thank you very much. One final point, they are champions league and should be aiming for a higher standard of player than us anyway. If they don't take one it certainly doesn't mean that they aren't good enough for a midtable/europa league side. sheesh.
