Saints are looking at Jose Callejon for £8 million from Real Madrid to take the right wing slot and add some much needed cover.

They are also looking at Keisuke Honda who will be leaving CSKA Moscow at the end of the season to replace Gaston Ramirez

Lucas Biglia is also on the wanted list to add quality and depth to the squad in Midfield.

Charlie Austin, John Guidetti and Luc Castaignos are all being considered to add to the striking options.

A lot of players will be leaving including Ramirez, Mayuka, Guly and Puncheon.

Why would Puncheon sign a 3 year contract then leave? Makes no sense.

Agree13 Disagree1

Puncheon? You mean the same Jason Pubcheon who signed a new 3 year deal about ten minutes ago? That makes perfect sense.

Agree10 Disagree1

Punch signed a new contract with Poch. can't believe this happened just to get a fee.

Agree10 Disagree1

Ramirez not too likely to leave this summer, what is forgotten about his issues with settling this season is he has had a large range of personal and family issues to deal with including loosing a close relative.

His wife has apparently settled in England and they have bought a house, I'd be surprised if he wanted too much more change in the near future so him staying at St Mary's with the support he has received from the club seems, to me anyway, quite likely.

Agree9 Disagree1

Il drive guly to the airport

Agree20 Disagree1

Mayuka will leave in the summer, but on a season long loan. he's still very young, and shows a lot of promice. when rickie lambert retires, mayuka will still have a bout 10 years in front of him. so let's see

Agree11 Disagree4

Here we go again! Pure speculation, which will not be clarified until we actually see who MP brings in.
Why do supporters try and guess who may come/go when we all know business will be done behind closed doors?
Having been a Saints supporter for over 50 years, I would suggest it is still valid that patience is a virtue!

This is a rumours site, what do you think people are gunna do?

Agree6 Disagree0

Rumour yes-but pure speculation/guess work/ agent "advertising" and trawling through space fillers in uninformed media are not rumours with any foundation. Might as well make a list of all professional players and throw a dart at it!
" Saints would like to sign Messi!" I'm sure there could be an ounce of truth in that but I would see no justification in considering that a rumour. And most other suggestions we will see from now until August will be equally just speculation.

Rumour site yes, Fantasy Football Manager no.

Saint Martin

Agree5 Disagree4

I agree with saint martin, could people not just say I would like to see saints sign so and so and do that in the banter section, leave this section for some informed rumours that can be at least linked to some form of media source, I have seen us linked with at least 15 players so far in this section and what with the 15 being released or sold it will be a case of whos he? wheres he gone? on the magic roundabout of SFC speculation.

Agree2 Disagree2

The Ed's decide if it is Banter or a Rumour. To be honest some of these people seem up the managers street and it is a very tough job to sort the nonsense from the rumours with substance.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know we all get excited but unless "rumours" on this site have some basis it does make us look as if we suffer the Chelsea/Liverpool supporters curse of "lets buy him, and him, and him. ", seen at its extreme after MOTD!

And the rumours posted about going back for players we were rumoured to be interested in during the summer seem particularly strange, firstly as the club have moved on some distance since then and secondly we have a new manager who will definitely have his own ideas.

And as for rumours about taking the Ox back on loan to allow him to gain experience, well that really would show a huge amount of ambition, wouldn't it?

I suspect at the end of the day, we will just have to wait and see, and we will all end up surprised!

Reading reported to be interested in sharp and fox
Cornish saint

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Ik I may get loads of dissagrees but I think fox is good cover for shaw I meen who would be good enough and want to play understuddy to a 17year old wilingly fox is that and lately ahs done well so in a way i'd want to keep him.

Trev saint

Agree7 Disagree12

Ideally ud have Shaw as back-up and get in a top class LB. Can't rely on a youngster week-in week-out and not expect him to be cooked by the time he's 25.

Agree4 Disagree9

You make a good point Trev, but if we get into the Europa league via the FairPlay league, we will need better then fox for a rotation player.
Poch knows what he wants to do and who to get, I have faith he will make the right decision.
Glad I'm not a manager lol

Agree2 Disagree1

Sounds like we have 2 who are likely to head to Reading to be with Adkins again and several others who are being put into rumours to go there. I mean Chaplow and Sharp are being very heavily linked but some others I have heard of with potential moves to Reading are Do Prado, Martin, Hammond, De Ridder, Reeves and interestingly Tadnari Lee.

Agree0 Disagree6

Shaw as back up? Have u seen him play!

Agree5 Disagree1

Oh aye I've seen him play, just don't forget the lad isn't even 18 yet. If we wanna realise these lofty ambitions players like fox have got to be slung, get a quality left back in his prime in and rotate with shaw if and when.

Agree4 Disagree1

Stick shaw on the left wing now an then as well if we get a another left back in his prime, we all know he'll end up their eventually like Bale!

Ac Milan Youngster Stephan El Shaarawy is a shock transfer target for southampton with a deal believed to be 8 million plus gaston ramirez being talked about

Believable9 Unbelievable16

Hopeless!

Agree2 Disagree1

Dunno if this would be a good deal tbh I don't think there's a lot of difference between the two.

Agree1 Disagree5

As much as I would love this, no way is this going to happen.

- TJ

Agree3 Disagree2

Gaston is worth £17mill alone not going to happen!

Agree4 Disagree4

Classic

Agree2 Disagree0

Are you joking? I'm a saints fan and this is RIDICULOUS.

El Shaarawy is an amazing talent, too good for Saints. Ten times the player Ramirez is.

Agree10 Disagree5

Lol never going to happen

Clarkeysaint

Agree3 Disagree1

Really? Starts every game for AC Milan and the third highest goal scorer this season? Unfortunately, I doubt he has even heard of Southampton.

Agree6 Disagree2

Can people stop making up rumours like these because then it gives that league 2 club down the road to have a laugh

Agree5 Disagree0

Ramirez may cost 17m on his own but El Shaarawy would cost 20-25m! He's class and is going to be one of the best players in the world one day, this will never happen sadly
