As Southampton manager Nigel Adkins looks to bolster his defence that has leaked a lot of goals this season. He will look to bring in only 1 or maybe 2 players but will be prepared to pay the high fees required for a top CB. Top of his shopping list is Dejan Lovren. This would be a real coup for the Saints possibly even outdoing the signing of Gaston Ramirez. Source: I have a cousin that works for a french magazine

Would be a great signing! I saw him linked with Chelsea. Good age at 23 aswell.

Agree6 Disagree4

Would be a quality signing. Southampton's defence has massively improved under Adkins already and this would be a huge move to take someone so good to really tighten the nut.

Can you tell us what this French magazine is called?

Sounds far fetched. Good if it happened.

Southampton will be priced out of a move for Brighton and Hove Albion Winger, Will Buckley

Transfers Out include:

-Danny Butterfield - Swindon (£90,000)

-Ryan Dickson - Free
-Jonathon Forte - Unknown (£350,000)
-Richard Chaplow - Crystal Palace (£750,000)

Would love the top 2, not so sure on Figueroa and as for the possibilities, i would say they would be nice but not essential. Would be happy to see the season out with Nem and Caulker. Come on make it happen

So saints will be priced out of signing will Buckley but WILL sign an 11.5m pound striker? Didn't we also bid 6m for Phillips in the summer?

Agree3 Disagree2

This is nonsense, although news has been out recently about potential departure of Steve De Ridder who wants first team football with a few Championship clubs said to be interested.

Agree2 Disagree2

Cant see any club known or unknown paying for Jonathon Forte.

Agree3 Disagree6

The chance of Caulker joining Saints, having just established himself in the Spurs squad and been called up by England, is ridiculous. We can forget that one.

Agree5 Disagree3

Jonathan Forte is heavily demanded amount league one clubs. He's been on loan and scored regularly in that division.

Agree3 Disagree4

Caulker won't happen for same reason as above post states. Ince has for all intents and purposes signed with 'pool already. Not sure why we'd take Figeuroa. As for the others, all a possibility I suppose. I just hope we get deals done early in the window, rather than waiting until the last week like last time.

Aussie Saint {Ed001's Note - Ince has not signed with Liverpool, Blackpool have rejected two offers for him, so far.}

Agree1 Disagree3

Thanks ed, that's why I said "for all intents and purposes". Whilst I know pen hasn't been put to paper, I strongly suspect this deal will happen eventually given how strongly it's been rumoured for months.

All these Blackpool supporters seem to believe their chairman is 'all powerful' and that even if a player wants to go, Blackpool won't sell. That's tripe in my opinion...if a player wants to go, it's folly for clubs refuse to deal reasonably with others...particularly a club in Blackpool's position highly unlikely to even make the playoffs. {Ed001's Note - whereas I think it is more likely that Ince will not make the return, due to him wanting guaranteed first team football. He won't get that at Liverpool.}

Agree1 Disagree2

I see what you're saying ed, but I can't see him resisting the opportunity at age 19 to make the move to EPL (unlike Zaha who will prob stay at Palace given their league position). It's different for Ince compared to someone like Luke Shaw who is already playing EPL regularly so would have little to nothing to gain from moving to a bigger club. But anyway, time will tell...

What's you're read on Matt Phillips then? {Ed001's Note - he has his father's advice though, his father just wants him to play regularly. Phillips is a different matter, I expect him to move as soon as Blackpool receive an offer that meets their valuation. I really don't see him still there next season.}

Agree1 Disagree3

I'm sure Ince will move in January, but doubt it will be to Liverpool. Blackpool will hold out to create an auction, which Rodgers will resist. Also, the fact that 'pool let him go is likely to work against them.

Agree1 Disagree3

Ince has expressed his desire to join Liverpool, so it will happen , spurs have joined the race to sign Zaha , along with chelsea and arsenal , and chelsea are preparing to take shaw {Ed001's Note - Ince has done no such thing at all. Blackpool have rejected Liverpool's offers, Ince has other options and his dad is advising him to only go if he will be sure to play first team football. With that in mind, I don't think Liverpool are the likeliest option for him.}
