Renzo Contratto booked in to De Vere Hotel hr ago. BTW he's Astoris' agent.
Source- member of staff there.

Was I the only person who read the name at the start of this and thought 'who the...?'?
Anyway I would love it to be the case that he's moving to us but I have to ask how do people know this guy is his agent and surely that means that if the agent is here then negotiations are yet to fully take place?

The Hotel staff were informed they were to arrange transport for this Renzo bloke (not sure where from) representing Cagliari football club and looked him up. No other info other than being booked in.

Well I hope this is true and that it means Astori will be meeting with him, Cortese and Adkins to complete a deal.

Compared to what I've seen and heard this is rubbish.
Have heard that personal terms have already been agreed between player and Saints (so no need for the agent to come over to Southampton now) and the only sticking point it transfer fee/payments

The agent may be wanted as witness to the contract signing or may be wanted to be with Astori. There are plenty of reasons an agent can be called in other than just negotiations.

Is the De Vere hotel nice?

Doubt terms have been agreed as sky sports says an offer has been made, not accepted. If I were to make a hotel related rumour it would be with the De vere so sceptical. All we know is we r in for him so hopefully it's done in time for villa.

The De Vere has just been taken over by a new unnamed owner, perhaps NC investing on the side!

Will Buckley no he's just signed a new deal with Brighton so that won't happen astori Ive heard very close

First one, quite likely to be true given the amount that's been said about Astori.
Second one, well I suppose the papers are rumouring it but I can't see it myself and not sure he's up to the challenge.
Other two, clearly made up. Can't see us going for Benayoun given his wages and the fact that Chelsea may have plans for him under Benitez seeing as they refused West Ham extension on his loan. Huddlestone is unlikely to leave Spurs anyway.

I hope so, i reckon if we got all them that would leave us quite stable for the rest of the season. Can't see them all happening but i hope they do. Good blend of youth and experience.
