If it's going to be anyone it'll be another centre back, I'm going for someone like Terence Kongolo. He was left out of the squad in Feyenoord's last game due to "being tired" - sounds to me like he might be on his way out of the club anyway, if it's to us then that's a bonus!

Well that's the first one gone, McQueen to Southend . I think he is too good to go there, we need him in a Championship side as a loan player to help him improve . Can't see Southend bringing him on and I had high hopes for him . To me one of our best academy players and deserved to stay here . Is there a bit of a meltdown with our traditionally superb system of bringing young players through? I haven't seen anybody challenging a breakthrough into the first team squad since Harrison Reed and he also seems to have been put on the back burner, strange.

lower leagues are good for young players, maybe not quality wise but it'll toughen him up and make him stronger.

Peterborough Chairman replied to me on twitter yesterday saying they enquired about Sam Gallagher in the past and were quoted 10k a week plus a massive loan fee. No wonder we don't see many young players go out on loan anymore.

Club must have forgotten how influential League One was to the progress of players like Lallana, Schneiderlin, Chamberlain and others.

To be fair the youth players need to step it up Koeman has already said they're not good enough so any football will do them a wealth of good.

I sort of agree but why is that? Don't think you could use Morgan as an example as he was already going to be a class player and would have got games if he had come straight in at PL level even at his young age of 18 when he came here. Seems to me that we will probably never have players like The Ox, Walcott, Lallana, Bale etc. come through again but who knows. We have some good academy players like Ryan Seager but just don't see them getting into the Ist team squad on a regular basis unless we get a string of injuries . Basically we have a very strong squad which unfortunately has not been consistent enough this season otherwise we would be up in 5th or 6th place, we have strength in depth and if everybody stays I see us having a very strong campaign next season.
