Also zaha might be an option for us with ings and caulker on the english side of things

Maybe even mica richards

Agree9 Disagree3

I agree with these 3 and Lukaku, but I'm not a fan of Hernandez personally, anyway I still think Shaw will stay

Agree9 Disagree2

In my opinion, out of all these strikers, I would be most happy with Ings or lukaku. As great as this would be, I believe that a new keeper is more important as gazzaniga is. Well. Gazzaniga!

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree a GK has to be the top priority, followed by a CB and a striker, they are the key positions to fill and hopefully Mayuka can come back and provide back up to Jay and Lallana on the flanks and maybe a youth academy player with pace will come through on the wings too

Agree3 Disagree1

I just want poch signed up! He's the most important one, if he stays I think everyone stays. If he goes then there will be an exodus of our young stars. I can't help but feel uninspired by kreugers comments regarding player sales. He just seems to bat round the subject as much as possible. He doesn't fill me with confidence.

Agree5 Disagree2

His contract runs out next year, but he has said that he won't discuss a new contract until the summer, I think this is because with Cortese he new he had an ambitious chairman that will drive the club forward, maybe he's working out if Krueger will do the same. I think from what Krueger has said to the press that he will, I especially think that saying we won't sell our stars will help and if he is given the funds to further improve the squad, to keep our project going then he will stay. Which I think Krueger and Katahirina will do, as they keep speaking about the project and the southampton way, which is signing 2-3 quality players each year and bringing through young youth players into the team. So I think he'll stay as long as he can see that the club will continue improving.

Agree4 Disagree0

Our top priority has to be a 20+ per season striker. We create so many chances with this team but have a terrible conversion rate.

Give Gazza a chance though, he is our third choice. Boruc is easily a good enough first choice and Kelvin is decent back up with Gazzaniga as a decent third option.

Hernandez Ings or Bony 20 goal a season men or at least 15

Keep hearing we will get rather lukaku and some money for shaw or henandez and money for shaw both good deals I think. would love henandez he's only on 60 g a week at united and we would play him most games!

MUZZ_TING

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Isn't 60,000 a week very high by Saints' current standards? Not sure we'd want to break the salary structure for Hernandez--he's good, but not that good.

Agree5 Disagree4

Selling Shaw would be a huge mistake. He is settled here and is far more likely to stay in the long run than anyone we bring in from another club.

Ive been hearing lukaku or hernandez from united both would be amazing for soton I think. Hernendez hardly gets played when we would offer him most games plus he's only on 60 grand wges. Please someone tell me this is true!

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Would be great to get eithier but depending on wht shaw wants to do to get one of these two we may have to consider a swap deal plus cash for either Lukaku is the better option

We are being linked with Harvard Nordtveit, according to the press. Used to be at Arsenal. Now at Borussia M. 23 yr old. Started as a CB but can also play RB and CDM (not that we are short there). Was seen as a real prospect a couple of years ago. Could work.

"However, Sportsmail understands that Shaw is attracted by the promise of regular first-team football at United and has told the Old Trafford club he will make the switch if they can agree terms with Southampton. " 16. 04. 14

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Like he does not play 1st team for Saints, who are likely to finish this season in a very similar position to Man. Utd. LOL
Must be that he wants to play CL next season-oh dear no!

Why would Saints look at any transfer for their likely World Cup players ahead of the World Cup? Shaw has "risen in value" by £10m in the last week. World Cup exposure likely to increase that dramatically.

The nonsense in The Mail came from their Northern Football Correspondence. Sounds like combination of a Utd fan speculating, and a clubs desire to sell season tickets-they have joined the Wet Spam brigade!

Agree8 Disagree0

I wonder how much this new flurry of Shaw rumours has to do with Moyes 'everyone we've spoken with - read tapped up- is keen to come' comments. With the journalists just joining the dots.

Agree0 Disagree1

The biggest 'joining the dots' is that they state that Luke is now following Phil Neville!

Agree1 Disagree0

BBC now reporting that "Luke Shaw sparks Twitter speculation that he may be close to a summer move to Manchester United after he 'favourited' a tweet from a fan hoping that he makes the switch to Old Trafford. " Dot to dot!

Agree2 Disagree2

Rooney VERY unlikely to stay at Utd. Who would sign until that is sorted-and it won't be until after WC.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah Jof, saw that twitter thing. What they fail to mention is that he unfavoured it very shortly after and favoured another tweet suggesting he'd favoured it by mistake.

Honestly though I'll find it hilarious if after all this speculation he actually stays at Southampton. Him and Diego Costa. It's like the journos are actually willing the thing on. Anyone whos actually in the know is still aware that any deal for Shaw is far, far from done, and even if he were to agree terms with another club, that club still has to actually put in an acceptable offer to Saints, who won't pay attention till after the WC. It is getting boring this endless speculation over our player.

Agree4 Disagree0

TJ - a lot of sense there - thank you.
