Having watched the game again feel boufal is starting to put a shift in when playing ie tracking back and trying to win the ball back when losing it. If this guy gets a run of 4 or 5 starts he could get into his groove as there's no doubt he can do things no other player in the squad can.

Also, and I've watched the lad a couple of tea this year, I think we should sign Ollie Watkins of Brentford. We've been linked with him for the last couple of years and he's a player I like; quick, strong, got a goal in him from out wide. Another player I like is Clarke-salter who's quite promising I think.

2.) 08 Feb 2020 21:22:37
Chelsea were close to recalling him from his loan spell at Birmingham just before Christmas because of lack of game time. I'm thinking that if he can't get into Birmingham city's defence then I'm not sure he's good enough for us however Chelsea gave him a new contract at the beginning of the season so someone there must have thought that he has a good chance of making it.

3.) 10 Feb 2020 00:45:08
I like the look of him and as you say Chelsea obviously like him that's why they want him playing and gaining experience. But Watkins I believe could be an upgrade to Redmond in the long run, I like redderz but I don't see that his game has developed much in the time he has been with us well he hasn't developed into the player most of us thought he could. Redderz decision making just always seems to be the wrong one.

4.) 11 Feb 2020 14:30:21
I agree with you, I feel that Boufal's biggest problem is that he's never had a proper run of games in the squad. If he adds more aggression to his game and is smarter with the ball then he could become such a good player. His pro's that he is probably the most direct player in the squad. His first intention is always to go towards the goal and try to make something happen. His biggest downfall is that he always tries to do too much with the ball and often loses it. He did this many times against Spurs got the ball and tried to take loads of players on and if you're a premier league team you'll know that you can press him with a few players because more often then not you have a chance to win the ball back because he won't go backwards.

Defensively still a big issue and our play looks too slow at times but. GET IN!

How disappointing and unacceptable was that Spurs result? Presumably. hours and hours on the training pitch learning. how to overcome 10 players by 11 in the event of this match day situation plus 15.minutes halftime refresher course with any necessary adjustments to suit still the current squad were totally incapable of penetrating &taking advantage of this gifted situation. We need at least another 5 new cutting edge players. Meanwhile perhaps academy young MIDS can be introduced while Hojbjerg &Ward Prowse continue poor form. Some serious CASH required in January if we are to qualify for EPL lump sum!

Think it's going to be a high scoring 3-3 draw or 3-2 win for today, tella to come in if Armstrong isn't fully fit and I fancy Adams to get the first goal COYR.

Not a bad prediction re Che - and I did not see that coming! Everton looked poor but we made them look bad, and they’re top! Totally convincing, secure and dominant.

And we’re fifth, only 3 points off the top and unbeaten in four league games vs Burnley, Chelsea, West Brom and Everton. Villa away next, that could be a superb tussle.

2.) 25 Oct 2020 23:14:31
I just see Che going from strength to strength and learning better movement from ingsy. We are showing the form from the back end of last season. Also vestergard looks the defender we paid all that money, reminds me of a certain Michael svenson. The guys r now showing y I think most of us saints fans were quietly confident going into this season.

3.) 26 Oct 2020 12:36:55
Absolutely - big question marks over Vestergaard hence why we bought Salisu - maybe that’s pushed him on but he looks £40m atm.

Diallo also now pushing Romeu who is playing well.

Long stormed down the tunnel after not getting on - the competition amongst the squad as well as camaraderie is fantastic to see.

Back four settled. 3 clean sheets in four. Goals from midfield. Arguably the best strike partnership in the league currently.

What a time to be a Saint 😇.

Feel robbed after that what is var for, never a penalty on son! What because the keeper's pinky finger has brushed his leg?!?!?
We have to start taking the chances we're creating should have been out of sight after the hour.

It's almost as though VAR didn't review the penalty claim thoroughly because it's the FA cup. It's cruel on Gunn because he's positioned himself well to not make the contact. If he retracts his arms then he's a couple of yards away from Son.

We were the best team for about 70 minutes, but it feels like the lads just got too tired towards the end. You can see that from Lucas' goal we conceded, no one is near him and he's allowed so much space in behind our midfield. This was probably our downfall, once Alli came on they had more attacking midfielders on the pitch so there always seemed to be a spare man in behind our defence.

Some players were woeful at that point, when we were on top and controlling the game, Romeu looked a different player. But as soon as we got tired and Spurs were the dominant force, he was out of position and gave away so many free kicks because he couldn't keep up with the play. I think in the build up to the penalty, he over commits loses his man, wants to bring him down but doesn't because he knows he's already on a yellow card. Vestergaard also wasn't good enough. Gunn, probably couldn't do much about 3 goals, but maybe could've got to the ball before Son. I think Stephens had an amazing game, made so many good tackles one on one as the last man and did a great job at switching to RB. Ings was also amazing, he covers every blade of grass and plays with the same intensity throughout the 90.

All and all if we play every game like that, European places are actually a realistic goal. At this point in the season we've already played most of the teams above us twice, and I can't see us losing to the bottom 5 again.

{Ed047's Note - I thought you guys were great last night and certainly didn’t deserve to lose.

Great to see you playing so well in the league too.

Let's hope JWP is OK too. Guess JWP will have to start in a couple of weeks now?

3.) 06 Feb 2020 08:46:53
They've come out and said that his injury is just a deep cut, so would've been painful. He'll probably need stitches, I doubt he'll be back before the end of the month. But we've got Armstrong back, so he can play in the DM position and Boufal/ Djenpo can play on the right.

Watching NI Vs Holland and God how I miss roko the 1 manager we've had that told us in a roundabout way what was going on behind the scenes eg his empty training ground post.

Also thinking of ex managers how about Adkins back in as sporting director. He definitely loves the club or pardew he made some good signings too. Both experienced football brains.

Now I looked at Sandi's stats when he signed and the majority of last season he played as a CDM (the Romney role) he is not a CB by any stretch of the imagination.

Even though it is stated that the deferals are for 10% that should be plenty to cover all the non playing staff. Bournemouth have already sent my nephew home on furlough as a junior groundskeeper. Stewards r on what is essentially 0hrs contracts so with the board, coaching and playing staff taking cuts should easily cover those who are non playing staff.
