Taider has apparantly not settled in England or impressed Koeman in training so is going back to Italy, I'm not to concerned about this as we have a lot of CM's anyway and this way it gives Harry Reed more first team opportunities too, although I do hope we bring in a winger and a CB before the deadline

Can't us saints fans do something to get KL to sell the club and take her people with her??

All KL has done is given the club more stability. She didn't want to just keep investing money into the club and wanted it to become self sustaining. This summer she has put an effective board together and taken the entire decision making out of the hands of one man. This board have reinvested the money we got for overpriced players with in most part much better value players, Shane Long possibly being a bit of an exception however providing valuable prem experience work rate. We're now looking like a club with more depth then last season, and in a much healthier financial position which allows us to grow from years to come. This is a business and I think she has run it better then any other owner in the Prem. So if you'd rather her to sell and risk getting an owner like Vincent Tan then maybe you need to reevaluate the situation we're in.

Taider leaves Southampton - joins Sassuolo
Wtf is going on?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mmm, so much for the excellent scouting system and the board knowing what they're doing - this is laughable it really is, where are the marquee signings?

I know all them c. v s sat on there desk wanting to join and all them scouts out there scouring the markets LOL wot will he come out with next

It's people like you Mikeysfc that we don't need, you're not a football supporter. All this knowledge about what's going on at the club I must agree frustrates you. Only problem is you have no idea what is happening and just aimlessly make stupid made up statements concocted in your deluded mind. I really think you are supporting ( and I use that word very loosely )the wrong club. You would be better off moving to Shepherds Bush and giving Harry all your knowledge, he's stupid enough to listen.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a wierd signing anyway, as didn't really need a player in CM, as out of all our positions it's the best covered, gives Harry Reed more first team opportunities too, so I don't think it's too bad too be honest

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2014 21:44:55
Brek Shea on loan sums up our boards ambition what a disgrace, he was shocking at Stoke and worse at Barnsley if that's where we are then we are in big trouble this season as we need some additional fire power desperately so disappointed Ralph will struggle to answer angry fans on the 1st! It's nearly judgement day Krueger and reed time to do one!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have to say, I'm still waiting for the marquee signings we were informed about - it's looking less and less likely

Agree0 Disagree0

Two words NO AMBITION content to just stay in EPL we've been conned. They are playing a risky game. aim high is always best

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully this is only a rumour and not true, personally I'd rather give Isgrove and McQueen more game time then him

I can't remember witch one of Reed or kruger said money gained from sales of players would be invested back into the team.
So 45m spent 90m made from sales. plus money from TV and league position. And shirts and merchandise and ticket revenue. I think the ramirez, osvaldo, staplewood are paid off. and any biggish wage earner's are gone.
Debt 74m sky deal 80mill
Players gone 90mil bought 45mil
45mil saved from players plus League position money, ticket sales, shirt sales and merchandise.
They keep around 60-70mill in profit on the books.
Kerrrching KL pocket russles

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are there any facts in there or is this just how you imagine it would happen? It's not like the remaining money disappears if we don't spend it in this window

Agree0 Disagree0

If u look around for the right facts info and real cost and prices have been reported you can get a good idea of the rough numbers going through the books.
But in all honesty if the board was going to spend on players rojo for 15mil ain't out of the question considering shaw sold for 27mil. Instead our board choice is borrow Bertrand. Look I no I sound all doom and gloom but as fans we should expect more the team we got is Ok but a bit thin and no pace till jrod returns we need the signings now not when there inflated in the Jan window season has already begun and Koemen is the best manager we could have hoped for but even he has repeated and repeated we need singings

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 09:30:18
we have been well and truly conned sadly. it breaks me up to have read some of the posts here, as it was always clear to me that the reason they sold all our top stars was to recoup money, possibly prior to the sale of the club, if rumors on the continent are correct. NONE of the incoming monies have been spent on players, they have all been financed from current income including tv money. KL wanted to recapitalize, and so took a risk that Koeman would be able to find replacements for t hose that left. Its all been done on the cheap, we will not get any marquee signings whatsoever. Hopefully we can stay up but that's it. Its really disappointing, because it has destroyed the vision of an exciting future, staying up is the only goal now and its going to be difficult.Im not happy, wish KL would sell , feel badly let down.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 09:33:31
St Sam-you shouldn't expect "facts", you must realise from the rubbish posted we have the only club in the EPL who don't pay salaries! And of course, we are the only club in the EPL who receive all of the transfer funds the day after a player is sold!

Now, I do like a good rant but it does become a bit tedious when it is always the same nonsense from the same "persons" who do not have a clue. If they looked around a bit more they would know why Rojo did not happen (and why it still might not for Utd.) but why should the facts be considered?

Agree0 Disagree0

Facts was possibly the wrong word then, I meant well sourced figures or something on that lines, not just off the top of someones head, I agree we're still a bit thin on the ground, I think some of the academy boys have stepped up to add depth and if Taider goes we've lost 5 and gained 6, so we have slightly more depth than last year, if we have the depth of the same quality I'm not sure as it depends how well people like Gardos do, we'll be able to tell after a few more matches though as it will take time to gel, we do need a winger and CB though and soon, if it's true that Sinclair, Richards and Nastasic have all become available at City, may as well go for Sinclair and one of Richards/Nastasic and then we'll be covered anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we need players have since our players left and there have been players available but again us fans are still sat around waiting Koemen and our squad is. But just like when we got promoted to the prem who was brought in. And we will still sit here hoping our board pull there finger out. Well let's hope so because with jrod still out and ramirez half crocked gardos just getting over injury and mayuka failing to show his pace and getting goals we will be relieing on or academy. Witch is unlikely even barcalona have to buy players

Agree0 Disagree0

So saint Martin as u say payments ain't paid straight away then why was the remaining transfer balance for osvaldo and ramirez made such a big thing also I think u might have written it wrong as we are the only club who has a problem with paying players wages. Look at Hull and west brom and west ham west ham had two startery today at in in the last 12 months we were interested in. Cresswell, cb from aderlect. but as u lot say west ham. West brom and the like can offer better wages.
I Understand What U Say. But why can they

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 19:40:51
It's not why can they but should they? I am old enough to remember how LUFC threw away their heritage in a stupid financial gamble that failed. If you are desperate you do silly things eg. super Mario!?

We should develop a TEAM of equals (RoKo has already indicated that) and we can't have individuals on £100k/wk (YET), who would upset the squad.
The two at West Ham we missed looked a real loss today, didn't they? When we can afford to pay high wages (which has a lot to do with additional income) we need to consider the whole squad being able to achieve those wages, not one or two "marque players". I have yet to see a "marque player signing" be successful at Saints (perhaps with the exception of Keegan).

I anticipate we may invest another £15m or so before the window closes but I really don't think we need to do more than that. It is more important we get the balance right now otherwise we will have a season like Spuds last time round.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hear you I do. But thought that we were a better destination than Wba wet spam and the like. And nah lol we didn't look like we missed the two at wet spam but I was getting at we should be able to give a appealing enough deal to get them. But then again if there hanging out for top wages they won't come anyway.
I'm fully behind our team just think the board could do more when it comes to Koemen repeatedly saying he needs a winger.
PLEASE GET THE MAN A WINGER

Agree0 Disagree0

No more whinging! Less than 48 hours to go! WE WILL BE OK. In Roko we trust. Get behind the team!

Did I say he was no good?? The guy has talent, but will he apply that?

Think you will find there are plenty of good players who still have real problems that means you should get rid as soon as you identify them, eg. Osvaldo? Perhaps Scousehampton should have done the same?

You obviously have your own agenda against Saints, but don't try and blame them for getting rid of a player who could cause problems-the management are paid to manage such things, and have done so.

Hi Guys
I wrote yesterday that time is running out for Southampton FC. Only 3 days left for transfers and all we read about is Kooman wants Andros Townsend, he knows all to well that MOPO will not let him go unless spider go's the other way that can, t happen and he knows it, otherwise that person of a chairman will have no credibillity left so why don't he just forget about Townsend and move on to someone else befor the window closes. I also read in the echo that southampton have contributed to the tranfer monies spent by Premier league clubs by £45 million well where's the other £47 million gone? and don't say wages.
I see Jordy Classie just signed a new contract another target gone this board is so slow its a wonder they get anyone to come here apart from the one's no one else wants Les Read must think he's the best negotiater since sliced bread the time it takes him to react in fact if he was a bar of chocolate he'd eat himself. I can't see much happening on the transfer front for Southampton
this window

Disillusioned

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Now Taider's gone, this is how Saints' summer of squad strengthening stands:

OUT:
Lambert - £4m
Shaw - £27m
Lallana - £25m
Lovren - £20m
Chambers - £16m
Osvaldo - loan
Guly - free

IN:
Tadic - £11m
Pelle - £9m
Forster - £10m
Long - £12m
Gardos - £6m
Bertrand - loan

Ralph's going to do well to spin this window as a success. An already thin squad - by their own admission - has barely broken even in terms of numbers, and made significant losses in terms of quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

You forgot:
Sharp
Barnard
Fox
Robinson
11 players out 6 players in! With?s of there duality?
So 5 players down on last years already thin squad!!wtf

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely agree Wuthering the above we a board of amateurs masquerading as professionals. The are total out of touch with football go back to ice skating and championship football. Heaven help you if we start a living run therewith BD shouting for you to go, And you should

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't count Osvaldo and Guly there really as they barely played for us last year, of the players used from the squad we have lost 5 and gained 7, as well as gaining a few extra's from the academy it really hasn't been that bad

Agree0 Disagree0

Think that's exactly the point though. last season we had to play guly and osvaldo.

Really hope the Brek Shea rumours aren't true, I'd either like a marque signing in that position or someone young who can develop into that role, like Redmond or Berahino or even Callum McManaman would be quality as someone who can grow into the role, still hoping for a CB too but not sure who now? Anyone know anything here?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've a feeling we might land Redmond and that will be it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish people would stop mentioning redmond. really don't rate him. would rather sam mcqueen played. can anyone tell me how on earth sunderland seemingly have enough clout to land toby alderweireld but we dont?

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps Toby A wasnt a target?

Agree0 Disagree0

We want Alderwield permanantly whilst their only getting him on loan, I think Redmond is the type of player that would be great here, and we haven't had a young pacey winger since the Ox!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2014 16:35:41
Not long to go now! We need CB winger and an attacking midfield/utility.

Don't get at least 3 more quality signings then we will struggle. Brinkmanship is only good if it succeeds!

Could be a very interesting transfer deadline day

29 Aug 2014 16:25:00
Am I the only one who is annoyed by big clubs buying our players then not helping us out with loan deals!! Arsenal Liverpool and Man U all the same take take take then stick 2 fingers up at us. Why is there nothing to say when you sign a player off us we get first refusal on a b or c player!? I know loans ain't great but the situation we are in now I would be happy to loan players that are being touted to go on loan from these clubs at the minute

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They buy the best players from the teams just below so as to weaken them, why would they then loan players to them? This is how it works!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2014 13:02:59
This is the in my opinion the best team we could put out with current squad if everyone is fit
Forster (gk)

Clyne (rb)
Fonte (cb) (c)
Gardos/yoshida (cb)
Bertrand (lb)

Wanyama (dm)
Ward prowse/ramirez (cm)
Davis/cork (cm)

Rodriguez/ Ramirez (lw)
Tadic/ramirez (rw)

Pelle/long (st)

Now if any of u think this is a stronger team than last year agree if u don't disagree obviously dependant on Ramirez fitness and how good gardos turns out to b we could b but I doubt it I would say we'll finish 12th

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2014 13:25:06
Seems that Morgan has been sold then?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2014 13:55:31
Best team we could put out. you have selected 17 players that is hardly selecting a team is it

Agree0 Disagree0

Should say ward prowse/spider, my bad. And tommo does the post not state at the dependant on Ramirez fitness and how good gardos is and as for Ramirez none of us have seen enough of him to know his best position though imo I don't think he is a winger due to lack of pace so possibly the ward prowse role against Liverpool and drop prowsey into Davis' position

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramirez is I suspect a lot more suited to the cam role in the prem but he made most of an impact from the winger position when he was at bologna. He had had it bad with fitness and then he was homesick. Then got back in the team scored from outside the box against Newcastle then in the suderland game wes brown nearly snapped his ankle from behind witch put him out again and. If davis with his tenacious play had ramirez skill and vision he would be one of the best in the world. Ramirez just needs fitness and a manager who trust him and he will set the prem alight

Agree0 Disagree0

How many players do you want to pick for one team!

Agree/Disagree buttons are on the 'rumour' tab.

My team would be:

Forster

Clyne Fonte Gardos Bertrand

Schneiderlin Wanyama

Tadic Davis JWP

Pelle

If we were at home, I would consider playing Long & Pelle together.

I see the BooHoo crew is back out! stabbing the hand that feeds them. They seem so angry, lost of all hope! Well maybe I can give a little hope back to the boohoo crew. let's wipe our tears and blow your runny nose, the old dream is dead! no don't cry again!. The new dream is just beginning! :)

We had a great 5 years where we took some academy players mixed with a few good seasoned players, climbed up the league, shed the weaker players as we stepped up divisions and added better players to strengthen the squad. It resulted in our highest PL finish. But those players-assets wanted to move on, hard pill to swallow, but it is a reality, there is very little one can do when the big clubs come calling. That dream has died, go away and morn as long as you like, as long as it takes you to get over it. Then come back with some fresh points of view.

The new dream starts. People we have a great new manager. This new dream starts with Roko, for without a quality manager that can spot and nurture young talent we will never be successful again. But he has shown he can develop world class players and we have 7 academy players in the first team!! here is our new dream team!! 5 are only 19, this is great news, we have a new crop of SFC academy players that if given a few years to develop can eclipse what the lallana, shaw, chambers group did. This will not be easy, they don't have the lower leagues to hone their skills like lallanna had. We have to give them time to develop, to make mistakes, unfortunately the PL is a harsh place to learn, they will have to grow thick skin for all the numpties that will want instant success and skill from teenagers. But if we get behind this new crop of hopefuls, give them time and patience to grow into the PL, we will have another squad full of home grown players that can reach for the top 7.

This dream has a shelf life too. If, in a few year, our 19 year old are now 22 and setting the prem alight, we will have the big clubs coming in again. If our revenue income has not substantially increased to allow us to pay higher wages, we will again be at the mercy of the big boys. If we can increase revenue we maybe able to keep players wages high enough to see a SFC academy team make it to the top. For this I hold Kreuger responsible, not transfers, not speaking poorly for the club, not knowing football, he was brought in to increase our international profile, increase our fan base, increase off field revenue!

So let's get behind this new dream, our club is about producing some of the best English footballers out there, what is to say they are not already here and ready for our support! Saints go marching on!

God how refreshing Bermuda Saint to have someone on here that tells it as it is. Too many on these forums seem to be the " stab your granny in the back " type people who are totally selfish. All they seem to think is that our football club is about to disintegrate every time something happens that they don't like. I have said it before, true supporters are the ones that trust the club to make the right decisions. Some of the decisions that are made are out of their hands and that if players want to move on they try to negotiate but usually with no avail. We have had troubled times in the recent past but PLEASE allow Roko and the board time to get things sorted out, however, these things don't happen overnight. We have shown interest in a lot of players recently and a lot of you shout " Just get on with it and sign him " but that is not so easy if the player and agents either want too much money and also if the player himself doesn't seem keen on the move. We do not want the likes of the QPR manager philosophy as in " Oh dear lost again, let's spend another 10 million to sort it out". How people as in Fernandez can't see through this truly amazes me. Support the Saints in good times and in bad that is the sign of a true supporter, but most importantly give Koeman and the board a proper chance. 100% support at the next home game is essential, no way is criticising the likes of Pelle going to help him improve. Remember back to your schooldays and being urged on by your parents on the touchline, this is the same thing but on a much larger scale.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Bermuda Saint!

Financially we are in a far stronger position following the exodus, with a far stronger squad - unfortunately it will take time for the squad to gel, so we currently have a far weaker team.

Given a little time, I'm sure that Roko will emulate and approve upon last seasons relative success.

you can't start writing off players 3 games into a season and you can't condemn the board untill we see the bigger picture

Bermuda you are a complete dreamer come back to reality , we do NOT have seven academy players in the first team. The truth is only one Ward Prowse, with one or two others making the bench. Ill reserve judgement on the strength of the team but have to say that I am not impressed at the moment. If Pelle, Tadic Ramirez don't fire we will go down that simple. The Saints Board have taken unacceptable risks and I am hopping mad. How could they do this to us? Wish they would all leave, the sooner the better. The club has no ambition whatsoever.
