QPR are allegedly planning a £2m move for fonte. Laughable yet again.

Saintjoe

Best thing about this one was the Daily Mail asserting that QPR are planning on 'further exploiting' the Southampton FC 'exodus'. My question is what exodus so far? And more importantly who the hell are QPR?

2.) Harry redknapp is at QPR. They will be linked with at least 25 players this summer!

3.) Hope not. Has Fonte, cork or jay rod been offered new deals yet ED? Can u summarise the situation at moment?

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any contract talk with players.}

4.) I can't imagine any talks on contracts will go ahead until the new man in charge, it will be his call. Won't be a good start if he doesn't sign up Corky.

5.) Ok thanks can you summarise the manager and player situation please? Thanks ED

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

According to a newspaper Liverpool want Dejanovren and are set to bid 8.5m for him, 0.5m less that we paid for him last year! Absolutely pathetic.

Saintjoe

1.) You can't blame us for trying, but I would concede that it is completely pointless and stupid. If anything his value will have increased.

2.) 21 May 2014 21:21:08
If anything its at least doubled

3.) Lovren has already said he is happy staying, reported in the Croatian press from the man himself. Les reed would have choked at an offer so low, unless the rumour is just pure paper talk of course

{Ed002's Note - There was an unacceptable verbal offer.}

The amounts of times I've heard people saying it's difficult to keep a player who wants to leave, if the right price comes in then let them leave' over the past few weeks is ridiculous. Prime example being Suarez last year. Liverpool told him where to stick his transfer request, rejected arsenals bid and he stayed at Liverpool to have one of the best seasons of his career. Why can't our board show the same guts.

Saintjoe

1.) Right people need to stop using Suarez as an example for this, he agreed to signing a new contract at Liverpool, no one forced him too, Liverpool convinced him too, we have apparantly offered Jay a new deal, I just hope he signs it! For us the best way to convince the rest of our small squad to stay is by signing some quality players

Serge Gnabry to saints from Arsenal. as part of a deal for Calum Chambers. Probably just paper talk but wouldn't be 100% against this one.

Saintjoe

1.) Keep Calum! We need to hold on to some of our academy graduates! We don't need any midfielders anyway need depth in defence! Besides if we hold on to him for another year they will be back next year offering an extra 10Mil!

Over the past 10 years we've been through so many ups and downs and I've always kept the faith, although it's hard to continuing to do so, the project the club started in 2009 has come so far in 5 shirt years but what's going on now is not something Markus would have been happy about. It's a shame that after such a great season as one that this is happening, although I will be gutted if (or if we are to believe reports, when) rickie goes Liverpool I cannot but admire his personal journey and you can't blame him wanting to go to his boyhood club. It may seem a typical saints fan thing to say but they path we are on I am fearful for next season. The most important thing is that whoever is playing at st marys next season the fans get behind them and we stay together as one.

Saintjoe

1.) . and what IS going on now?

2.) Sorry, but it seems to me that a "typical Saints fan" has seen enough off-seasons to realize that 1) not all rumors are true, and 2) this club and every club can endure a few changes in an off-season. For those who are panicking even though NO players have been sold, have you ever been through an off-season before? Have you forgotten what it's like? Have you not noticed that even the top clubs inevitably lose some players every year? All I can do is shake my head at some of the despair and anger on here at what is, so far, absolutely normal football business. Amazing--NOT ONE contracted player has left yet (yes I realize that some will, at some point), but some people seem to have given up on next season already.

As long as we don't lose clyne I feel this would be a good deal for us

Cyprussaint: obviously in an ideal world mopo would stay with us and why would anyone want to go to spurs! But if he were to go, which is not something I would want, out of all the managers likely to come to us michael laudrup would be best suited as he played attractive passing football at Swansea and he did achieve a similar finish to ours this season and cup success so although poch going wouldn't be ideal and could see a mini player exodus manager wise I think we'd cope

If mopo were to go, michael laudrup would be the best possibly replacement, can cut it in the league but Swansea didn't have the squad to compete simultaneously in Europe but with our squad I feel he would do as well as mopo
