Levy set to approach Southampton for MoPo in the next 24hours apparently. Rumour is that MoPo is identified as the perfect man to get the most out of lamela and develop the younger players whilst playing entertaining spurs football.

1.) Hope we've had a chat with Malky Mackay and he doesn't jump at the Norwich or West Brom job before we know what's going on. Quality manager.

2.) Sherwood sacked so could be set to talk to Poch?

3.) Malky MacKay? Is that a joke? He's like a budget Sam Allardyce. Saints can do better - preferably a manager whose teams play football.

4.) MoPo has already stated that he has a year left on his contract, to keep stating that would hint that he will not push a move and therefore the club would need to agree to an approach.
Spurs, especially Levy are a knee jerk bunch and have had a number of managers and time is not given. Look at the season just gone, AVB sacked, Tim assigned and put immediately under pressure then sacked for 6th place.
MoPo a hero for 8th at Saints. With the right investment Saints can be higher than Spurs next year.
If he goes I reckon he will be sacked by Christmas.

5.) Malky Makay - that's a leap of faith. I can't believe his scouting connections are wide enough for Saints and he has only managed two championship clubs in the past Watford and Cardiff - not enough Prem experience for me. Mind you a Swiss crane heiress and an Ice Hockey coach may not know who the best managers are.

6.) If mopo were to go, michael laudrup would be the best possibly replacement, can cut it in the league but Swansea didn't have the squad to compete simultaneously in Europe but with our squad I feel he would do as well as mopo

7.) FU2 although I understand your point mate but surely you wouldn't think an Italian banker would know who the best managers are and he didn't do bad with the appointments of Adkins and Pochettino

8.) Saintjoe totally agree but just hope that Mopo stays. Having read Rednapps comments on Slysports he is just hopgin Spurs pick Mopo not saying that Spurs think it too. Why would he want to go and work for someone who is even more trigger happy than Dom Jolly!

9.) Cyprussaint: obviously in an ideal world mopo would stay with us and why would anyone want to go to spurs! But if he were to go, which is not something I would want, out of all the managers likely to come to us michael laudrup would be best suited as he played attractive passing football at Swansea and he did achieve a similar finish to ours this season and cup success so although poch going wouldn't be ideal and could see a mini player exodus manager wise I think we'd cope

10.) Totally with you on that Saintjoe. Concerned if Mopo were to leave which players (if any) would leave. Its going to be an interesting couple of months as our players will be linked away up until the final day of the transfer window unless we can get them nailed down with new contracts or extensions to shut the media up.

11.) I hope we wait until after the world cup before consider selling shaw or adz as their value could increase. I hope we sort out poch soon. come on the board give us some good info soon and sign some decent players coyr

ello all.

Now a word of warning first. This is going to be a lengthy post, so those of little patience may want to skip it! Also, it is slightly more 'politicised' than a smiley, due to the source and the timing. Everyone has an agenda, after all. Think of this as more re-tweet than Op-Ed!

With that caveat in mind, let us plough ahead.

1. Lallana. As you may see from my posting history, things I have been privy to from inside the club have meant I have never warmed to a certain badge kissing individual as much as others. His lack of care at his internal end of season review (including his statistical input input into matches) had alarm bells ringing, as did his apparent contrasting attitudes in discussing his future with those inside and outside the club. Some within the club are happy that the Blackmore tweet broke, as it showed that the Loyal local lad may not have Saints as his number one thought. It is also thought that a raise from any top 10, instead of top 4 club, would be enough to have him causing disruption once more. Whether or not he will hand in a transfer request, or Liverpool will Negotiate a lump sum settlement with Bournemouth remains to be seen. Intresting that his former boss does not rate him enough to bid for him (all alleged). Whatever happens, don't expect a 'goodtimes' highlights reel if he does leave.

2. Lambert. The Club had received a number of enquiries for Rickie, but he batted them away. The board was mindful that within a few days of meeting the players (December), Rickie had managed to insert Liverpool into most conversations, such was his passion for his home-town club. They were also grateful for his courteous, patient behaviour upon hearing of the offer, and there was genuine good feeling on both sides when goodbyes were made. Unlike some others.

3. Budget. The 35 Million is still in place. The board are hesitant to confirm the amount added to this now, as prices will be artificially inflated even without more sales.

4. Katharina Liebherr. Despite the prevailing view on here, she does care for the club, and our future. One thing my source was unclear on (because they couldn't get a handle on it yet) is whether she genuinely thinks RK and Reed are doing a sufficient job on a learning curve, or whether their is an imminent reshuffle. One thing is certain though, there has been an increase in 2 person meetings as opposed to group meetings.

5. Cortese. Though in the immediate aftermath and at the end of the season Cortsese was active in engaging the press, it is not thought that the whispered campaign against the club originates from him, but it does stem from his leaving as

6. The press. The club sought out untapped Journos to tell 'their side' as Cortese departed. But they underestimated how much access and coverage the media would demand in return, and as a result, conventional agreements were ignored, and many more interesting than 'helpful' stories have appeared. There may be an appointment soon to help restore balance.

7. The Manager. "Too Sensitive" I asked for a nationality or initials. "No". They want the business done before national management positions become vacant though

Sorry I've had to censor the amount and quality of Info (I'm not allowed to discuss Shaw, for instance. At all).

A post on saints web from a guy who is known to have a contact at the club.

2.) Apparantly Koeman has been spotted at Heathrow, hopefully he'll be named next manager

I am not surprised that rumor has it that KL is not satisfied with either Krueger or Reed they have been abysmal.I am a working professional, an economist qualifying as a lawyer and frankly they disappoint me. I venture to suggest that Saints need someone who has practical expeirence of the business world, knows his way around the negotiating table and the banks, and neither of these gentlemen fit the bill. I would urge her to reconsider the make up of her administration team, Cortese has been a sad loss and she needs to find someone with his ability who will report to her within a corporate structure. She should be looking in the City, not in the football world necessarily. I am sure there will be some with a Southampton connection who would be interested in taking the challenge on. I would!!

4.) 04 Jun 2014 13:13:23
I think reed has just too much on his plate, he is meant to just be head of youth development but he has been given the job of director of football as well and is out of his depth. John Williams or someone should of been appointed by leibherr

5.) 05 Jun 2014 02:15:24
Completely agree with you Saint IQ.Wasnt Williams the one who had been CEO at Blackburn but is a local man here in Southampton? Speculation was he had been interviewed but nothing came of it, Krueger mysteriously getting the nod who has no admin or business experience, a very strange choice if you ask me. Reed, sadly has proved to be hopeless, has not dealt with the press efficiently and consequently we are seen as push overs. Tough world football. Sorry but I don't have a high opinion of KL, as is often the case having inherited her father s mantle she is not proving to be up to the job. none of her decisions have made the slightest bit of sense so far.

6.) 06 Jun 2014 01:11:15
Yes totton I think, last worked at Man City. I heard from somewhere there is a mystery man on the board as well as RK, LR, KL, GR and HH but we don't know his name

Ed, why was my post yesterday afternoon about 2 staff, potentially doddsy, getting the sack not put up?

Are we not allowed to post actual rumours?

Two surprise sackings going down at SMS today. (as of this afternoon)

Don't know who yet, but hope it is not dodd. I do know that the first team is unaffected.

1.) Everything I'm hearing about it seems to indicate it's Jason Dodd and Paul Williams.

2.) Thought Doddys was doing a good job with the under 18s

3.) Supposedly it was Dodd and Williams, in order for MoPo to bring his own people in but even if that's not true, I don't see any reason to sack coaches and youth team staff if the future of first team coaches and the manager is still up in the air?

TD why do you think hernadez is better than pelle. Doesn't start for Mexico, long-standing goal drought before world cup. Done nothing for Man Utd.

Marshall would not be competition for Boruc, Marshall would first choice every day of the week.

What we need to do, is sign that Mexican goalie Guillermo Ochoa. He has been an utter monster for a while and proved it against Brazil. Plus he is available on a free.
