Koeman hoping to lure Jermaine lens to st Marys as a replacement for Lallana. Also Steklenberg from Fulham as competition for the keepers position with boruc. van djyk from Celtic to bolster cb options and is looking at several striking options to replace Lambert, with benfica hitman cordoza a temporary option. He is willing to give Osvaldo a second chance, fonte could move on.

1.) Are you just summing up newspaper headlines here or is this supposed to be 'inside information'?

Not too much to support the Lens or Cordoza link as of yet, and little evidence Lallana is likely to leave given the clubs asking price being a seemingly 'non-negotiable' stance.

The rest of the rumours though have got basis to be believed from this summer, Southampton are willing to listen to offers for Fonte but are not specifically looking to sell him so a good offer would have to come in. Van Dijk and Steklenberg have clear links from Koeman (as potentially does Lens, but he was more seriously linked in previous summers with little suggestion that this summer is any more likely than last or the one before).

As for the Osvaldo rumour, we don't really know where that stands at the moment. I doubt Southampton would turn down a good offer for Osvaldo, but I can see Koeman wanting to try to re-integrate him into the side (particularly given our current lack of strike options, perhaps we will learn more about his future based on the signings made before the season starts).

Notice a couple of comments re Lallana, stating that he hasn't publicly or openly said that he wants to leave. He did however state that he was now focused on the world cup and didn't mind whether his future was sorted before or after the tournament. My thought is that he is currently contacted to saints for five years, so if his future needs sorted then he must desire a move or the club must be trying to cash in on a move, otherwise his future would already be sorted! Not being negative, just how I see!

1.) Good article in the echo the other day re lallana. When players sign contract they get a big signing on fee, which is spread over the length of the contract. If a player is sold they get that in full when they leave. If a player hands in a transfer request, they do not get this money. The board will reluctantly sell lallana for £25m, if he hands in a tr. as they won't have to pay out to lallana, and also shows that lallana tried to force the move. I believe there are a few possible outcomes.
. We sell as transfer request is handed in.
We dig our heels in regardless ( liver pool/Suarez)
. We sell at an improved offer to cover lallana (bale/ spurs )
. New manager convinced him to stay, prob sign new contract (rooneyish)

With media attention it think we could see a transfer request after the World Cup

2.) He won't out in a transfer request as he will give up his release fee, plus there is already a club interested. Players tend to put in a tf request if they are trying to get another club interested or they have had a reason to fall out with their current club. He's only interested in signing for Liverpool and if it doesn't go through I think he's happy to stay a saints player. I think he will move on because I personally believe that NC and MP both left because KL doesn't want to stump up the cash to move the club to the next level. Poch said this about 2 months before he left, he said "in order to move the club up a stage we need to spend big on tf and big on wages"

{Ed003's Note - a deal could easily(well nothing is easy) be done where what he would lose would be paid back by any new employer.}

3.) That may be the case, but saints want £25m, without the payout to lallana. Liverpool look unlikely to increase their bid. Lallana will have to hand in a transfer request to force it through. He may do this if he really wants a move to Liverpool. It's no secret he wants to leave and I doubt it would have much effect on his value.
After he has done this, Liverpool may cover lallanas losses

4.) = Adam Lallana is going to Liverpool

Saints will bring a keeper into the squad. Kelvin will become part of the coaching staff, Cody will be one of the three squad keepers along with Boruc with us sending Gazanigga out on loan. Ruddy, Scmeichal and Forster three names in the hat. The Mopo saga is a great smoke screen to the Shaw and Lallana bids, and also to potential signings. Nothing will happen with team player outs our ins whilst the head coach position is unresolved. I suggest that Ings will come in as a replacement for Jay Rod and that Osvaldo was the natural replacement for Lambert. Again until his future is resolved then we won't replace him. I'd guess that Lovrens and Fonte along with Yoshida will be our 3 main centre backs, hopefully Jos will move on and we sign a fourth centre back, Astori keeps being mentioned, I'd like to see Lescott at St Marys. Perhaps we have enough in midfield, Victor and Morgan are class, cork was awesome too, Davis is a quality player now and has come on loads in his second season, with JWP improving swiftly we have 5 class midfielders. Hopefully we can hang on to Shaw for another season yet, whilst we develop Target. Surely we have an amazing squad and even Lambert has enough miles left in him to oversee the development of young Gallagher. We need to hang on to what we've got and tie Mopo to another 2 seasons, maybe trade Gaston for another creative player and bring in that keeper and someone like saints fan Ings, we can definitely bang on the door for Europe next season.

Steven caulker would be a good addition I think and vela for 4 million would be a good move kasper as far as I'm aware has signed a deal with Leicester again but would love Forster he's a giant inbetween the post and he's English who his always good

2.) No offence dark peng but that just sounds like a round up of people's previous rumours/ opinions if the last 2 years.
I agree on all the players mentioned, and no player outs would be a saints fan ideal scenario.
I have to disagree though that this could be a valid rumour, in which the board are considering even a few of these players

Saints holding many interviews for the vacant post, hence the fluctuating odds with the bookies, every time a manager is approached, lands at the airport or enquires then they become prominent in the market. Only the board will actually know when they have finished speaking with every interested party. They want to make certain they get the right guy, so the media, bookies, fans, you, me and ed02 can speculate all we like! I have faith in the board, whoever gets the job will do us proud.
Come on you reds
Up the saints
Southampton till I die

{Ed002's Note - I think you will find that I will go out of my way to avoid speculation wherever I can.}

1.) 08 Jun 2014 11:58:48
Quite clear it will be Koeman unless so their is a monumental change in the bookie odds

2.) 08 Jun 2014 14:05:55
I think he may be the forerunner, but I doubt its as clear cut as that.
When it comes to the vague speculation, I seem to remember a certain boat being seen in southampton waters a few years ago lol.

Mopo hasn't sold out. He's under contract for another year, spurs can't approach him without the clubs permission, therefore it's the club who have sold out, yet again. Hopefully no one will go player wise and we'll bring in a decent replacement coach and strengthen, better still KL sells up and we get new owners who share her fathers dream (RIP st Marcus)

Shaw, Lallana and Pochettino have had ample opportunity to come forward and announce that they will not be moving anywhere. For that matter the club have been equally mute in this respect. Cortese would've been sharp with his response that we have ambitions and are not a selling club. At the moment I'm concerned that the silence speaks volumes. Yes it's a given that all are under contract and no one has to respond to media speculation but I believe the club at the least owe it to the fans to keep us informed of their intentions. It's been smokescreen after smokescreen and excuse after excuse riddled with speculation ever since Nicola departed. Give us some answers, we deserve it, we are the loyal fans, the backbone of this great club, come on you reds

dank Peng

1.) The club put out a statement, they will only comment on facts, not rumour. In that respect no news since the club told you no one would be sold is good news, no?

No other club will comment on paper rumour, if you could even name another club who put out the type of statement we did, I'd be surprised

Players would have been told not to say anything, if they start commenting on it it could show the press and whoever is planting the stories that they're becoming unsettled.

Until there are facts you won't here anything from club or staff - rightly so, you've already been told everything factual you need to know

2.) Les Reed already made a statement! Just keep calm and enjoy the World Cup, nothing will be announced (for most clubs anyway) until after the tournament.
Stay cheery Saint's fans! :)

3.) So you're more of a glass half empty kind of guy then dank?

;)

4.) St Christopher give Dank a break we are all on the same side of the fence. Together as one. Believe it or not I have had a letter from the Daily mail Sports Editor, signed personally by him claiming that both Lallana and Shaw will be on their way this summer. There are two ways of looking at this. Either he is a bald faced liar with an anti Saints agenda, or if we take him at face value and believe what he says that he has "excellent sources" to support his statement, then the paper is not guilty of defamation. I am expecting a reply from Saints on this very issue and when I get a response I will reproduce it in full on this site. All I can say is that this climate of uncertainty in which practically every player has been linked with a move away would never have happened under Corteses watch. He always renewed contracts well before they expired simply because he was aware that this would be the result if he did not. And he wanted to leave a clear message to the rest of the Premiership that Southampton were no longer a selling club. it is my belief that he left because he could not get the guarantees from Miss Liebherr that he sought particularly as regards players, both incoming and outgoing. Its time we got some answers.

5.) I'm not having a go at dank, Just saying that there's an old saying 'no news is good news'

There really is two ways of taking the current situation, and the silence from the Saints Board.

1) you can be focused on the negative, and that there must be something happening, so why aren't they denying all these rumours.
or
2) The Saints Board said that they will (probably) reject all offers. If the board responded to every rumour that comes out, Les Reed would be on TV more often than Corrie! Therefore there is no news to report - no news is good news.

For me, I'm a glass half full chap.

6.) So good to see another realist

I can't see us hanging on to MoPo, look at Laudrap, touted as the next Madrid or Barca manager during last seasons effort with Swansea, then sacked and jobless mid way through this campaign. I think he'll go for a bigger club before he messes up and gets sacked! There are many coaches out there that can do us proud. We have a great squad and awesome academy, our future is not dependent on one man. With regard to Shaw, I think he'll go, Target is coming through as an emerging talent and the big fee will pay off existing debts for transfers and leave a profit added to the money we'll get for Osvaldo and the slice of TV money, I'm certain we can invest in a keeper, centre back, left back and striker. I think Lallana will stay

We've struggled a little during the windy and wet conditions of late, I believe our high possession, high pressure system is better suited to decent playing conditions and expect us to finish as strongly as we started the season, well definitely finish in 8th or higher, love to end the season with a victory over utd, possibly one that deprives then of European football next year, Coyr

Lunacy troll.
They bought the club for next to sweet FA, loaned the club some, which we paid back, then we hit the prem. We, as most clubs do, owe some for previous transfer deals but the sale of Shaw would clear that debt. We have 70m of TV revenue from last season plus a guarantee of another 60m this year, the club is now worth over 5 times the 30m Marcus paid for it, as a business we have never been stronger. kL will invest in youth. Purchases will likely be developing English talent, as j-rod was, as was Clyne. Ings, ince, butland, Sinclair, caulker, Redmond, will Hughes, are the kind of players I expect us to be hitting up. We are looking to employ a manager who shares this ethos, developing youth, sound business, creating stability, playing offensive creative football.
