Notice a couple of comments re Lallana, stating that he hasn't publicly or openly said that he wants to leave. He did however state that he was now focused on the world cup and didn't mind whether his future was sorted before or after the tournament. My thought is that he is currently contacted to saints for five years, so if his future needs sorted then he must desire a move or the club must be trying to cash in on a move, otherwise his future would already be sorted! Not being negative, just how I see!

Believable21 Unbelievable4

Good article in the echo the other day re lallana. When players sign contract they get a big signing on fee, which is spread over the length of the contract. If a player is sold they get that in full when they leave. If a player hands in a transfer request, they do not get this money. The board will reluctantly sell lallana for £25m, if he hands in a tr. as they won't have to pay out to lallana, and also shows that lallana tried to force the move. I believe there are a few possible outcomes.
. We sell as transfer request is handed in.
We dig our heels in regardless ( liver pool/Suarez)
. We sell at an improved offer to cover lallana (bale/ spurs )
. New manager convinced him to stay, prob sign new contract (rooneyish)

With media attention it think we could see a transfer request after the World Cup

Agree9 Disagree1

He won't out in a transfer request as he will give up his release fee, plus there is already a club interested. Players tend to put in a tf request if they are trying to get another club interested or they have had a reason to fall out with their current club. He's only interested in signing for Liverpool and if it doesn't go through I think he's happy to stay a saints player. I think he will move on because I personally believe that NC and MP both left because KL doesn't want to stump up the cash to move the club to the next level. Poch said this about 2 months before he left, he said "in order to move the club up a stage we need to spend big on tf and big on wages"

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed003's Note - a deal could easily(well nothing is easy) be done where what he would lose would be paid back by any new employer.}

That may be the case, but saints want £25m, without the payout to lallana. Liverpool look unlikely to increase their bid. Lallana will have to hand in a transfer request to force it through. He may do this if he really wants a move to Liverpool. It's no secret he wants to leave and I doubt it would have much effect on his value.
After he has done this, Liverpool may cover lallanas losses

Agree1 Disagree2

= Adam Lallana is going to Liverpool

Heard a terrifying rumour that saints were interested in Felix penfold magatt for vacant managers post. Please god no. Haven't the board done enough to pee off supporters recently!

Believable25 Unbelievable8

Before you belittle the guy check out his record. I for One would be happy to see him here. He had average players at Fulham playing some decent football towards the end. Also please tell me who could have saved Fulham.
Whoever the new manager is he will have my full support, until he proves himself or otherwise. just want the the board to get on with out
Southampton till I die

Agree12 Disagree11

I'm with John on this one. Magath is a fine manager. The media had a fairly well coordinated campaign when he first arrived to discredit him, to create a controversy where there was none. Sure, he may not be a young, stylish, exciting young manager, but he's been around. Where this any other man who had won 3 Bundesliga titles and 2 DFB-Pokal's with Premier League experience to boot we'd be all over this. His time at Fulham tarred his name a bit, but he had extraordinary mitigating circumstances at Fulham and at good clubs and clubs striving to break through he has a great record. I'd definitely take him, if we can get him he's one of the best managers within our means at the moment. Unless these Frank De Boer rumours aren't just rubbish.

Agree4 Disagree12

What frank de boer rumours? he's way out of our league

Agree10 Disagree5

Any news on koeman rocket, my sources say we are least a week away from a manager.

Agree5 Disagree3

Done deal mate

05 Jun 2014 20:22:31
Rocket, who told you this and if it is a done deal, why wouldn't the club inform us about this? I don't believe if it true but I would love to be proved wrong.

Agree3 Disagree2

Hi ED will koeman be our boss? As his odds are drifting? ROckET when should koeman be confirmed then?

Agree2 Disagree3

They're just tieing up the loose ends lads. Takes a little while to get to a point where they can announce.

His son (Tim Koeman) has literally just started following saints on twitter. Check it out for yourself. No coincidence I can assure you

Agree5 Disagree4

He is a dinosaur of a manager, completely wrong for both players and club. Big disciplinarian and won the league with bayern not really the hardest thing to do is it? His nickname is saddam and modern players won't relish his outdated methods.

Agree6 Disagree3

He also then went to Wolfsburg and won the league with them. That is an achievement. Koeman or McGath plus sides to both but I can't think of a single club where Mcgath hasn't ended up leaving on bad terms no matter how well he has done with that particular club, bit like Mourinho in that respect.

Agree5 Disagree1

So ROCKET when do u think it will be announced? Could he bring pelle with him.?

Agree1 Disagree3

I hope you have more to go on then his son following us on twitter! But genuinely hope it's true as he would be a great manager for us

Agree1 Disagree3

Part of the negotiation was that he assured the board that he would bring Pelle. i'm unsure though if the board will take up that offer.

The deal is done & dusted,

It will be announced by next Friday at the latest.

This is due to the fact that once the players are on int duty, they can not negotiate or discuss transfers.

This gives the board approx a month to work with the manager on outs & ins. And a chance for him to be well prepared when they return

Its still thought that Shaw & Lallana will go, but this clever bit of timing will give the club the best possible shot at retaining the players the manager wants to keep

Agree3 Disagree1

Ok I hope your right ROCKET, but surely we're be signing a striker? Could we see anyone else from his former club join?

Agree1 Disagree1

If rocket is who I think he is from old forums then he could well be right!

Agree2 Disagree1

Was he reliable then gregg01f? Could anyone else be joining from his former club then ROCKET? Also so 100% he will sign?

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah i'd say 100% as he's already signed.

Agree1 Disagree1

Rocket, his sons also following spurs on twitter dose that mean he's going there too

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes he was reliable if the same person. My knowledge from within is that the manager situation is not resolved but I feel calmer after reading rockets note.

Agree3 Disagree1

Rocket never said it was simply because his son is following saints he was pointing it out.

Agree3 Disagree2

Hi ED is koeman having talks this week? ROCKET so you'd expect it to be announced this week? Could u see pelle joining.?

Lallana is very unlikely to be leaving to L'Pool after they announced a deal in principle with Bayer Leverkusen to sign midfielder Emre Can, subject to the completion of documentation.

Therefore looks a lot more likely he will be staying or travelling to Spurs.

Believable5 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - Can would not be anything to do with Lallana.}

Emre Can plays DMC or CD. There's no correlation between his impending signing and their move for Lallana.

Agree10 Disagree3

True, but Lazar Markovic of Benfica is though. If Liverpool go for him, which it looks like they probably will, then Lallana will have to stay put and honor his 5 year contract.

Agree9 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - What colour is the sky in your world? You are very naïve.}

Eds a Liverpool fan then!

Agree6 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - Hardly.}

Or a realist. When someone states I will resolve my future after the World Cup and have 4 of 5 years of their contract to go. Plus he could easily of publicly said I am not going anywhere but didn't. At the very least shaw and lallana are going this summer. He is good but 30 million is sensible business.

there is a rumor here in Portugal that Liverpool are after Markovic everyone here in this football crazy country is talking about it

Agree2 Disagree1

I think it's Ed001 who's a Liverpool fan, who do you support Ed002?

Agree4 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea.}

Lazar Markovic rumour would be liverpool feeding it to the media to try and get Lallana to try and get saints to hurry the deal before his value inevitibly rockets after performing well in the biggest show on earth. Do they think Les Reed is stupid? I trust he isn't

Hi eds, is there any truth in Liverpool moving on from Lallana and going for Lazar Markovic instead? Thanks

Believable3 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool advising Southampton they are no longer interested.}

Ah ok shame, was hoping they'd given up! Cheers though

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jun 2014 20:42:34
Eds 02 there is apparently a report in the "Bola" football paper that Liverpool are considering paying 30 m euros for Markovic, so yes it does look as if they are now actively pursuing that player.Some question about the price Benfica s president doesn't want to drop his valuation, so another stalemate possibly.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - but his point was it is not related to Lallana.}

one new player I have heard, being linked with saints is lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette.

what do you think ed? a kind of player that can fit into saints style of play

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I understand that Napoli, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal have had Lacazette watched toward the end of teh season and that previous interest from Roma remains. He has had a good season and by the summer I would expect that there will be interest in him from a number of clubs. Lyon will demand a very significant fee for the player (which has already put off Juventus) and even more from English sides.}

Hi ED is osvaldo likely to be sold? Could we be getting pelle? Thanks

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Up in the air - Osvaldo is possibly heading back to Italy this summer with a suggestion that Inter might be interested. Again, Valencia has been suggested as a possibility.}

Hi ED thanks, what's happening with both mayuka and sharp? And is koeman an option for new manager thanks

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It is really annoying that you repeatedly ask the same questions.}

Ed - think its frustration - when the board say advanced stages of appointing a manager you usually assume a daily quick announcement. I have been told a week away at least.

Read this morning Liverpool moving on from Lallana? Good news I suppose but if he's unhappy and wants to leave let him go if his heart isn't at Southampton we can replace him

Believable8 Unbelievable6

We still don't know that he wants to leave, he hasn't actually spoken out at all so everything in the press is still pure speculation
